Yes, but it is also real. As in, it is a real project, really works and is really being used.

I think what I mean is that the use of "Skynet" from The Terminator is gimmicky and in fact sort of degrading or cynical or distasteful, or an infringment of an ideal of some sort. Or if its not, its total evil.

More likely it is a breach of some trademark and he'll get sued. ;)

unlikely I think. The term "skynet" was used well before the movie.
