Flip to page 38 of this report: https://www.hudexchange.info/...ments/ahar-2013-part1.pdf

Some quick facts:

- 12% of all homeless adults are veterans
- States that have a more than 6% share of homeless veterans: California, Florida, New York, Texas
- California has the highest percentage of veterans who are unsheltered, coming in at 67.8%
- Although homelessness among vets has decreased significantly since 2010, there are still tens of thousands of them
- 60% of homeless veterans were in emergency shelters, transitional housing programs, or safe havens, and 40% of homeless veterans were in unsheltered locations

So what's the point of this post? If you're going to spend today appreciating our veterans, don't forget about the ones everyone else forgets about on a day-to-day basis. Cheers and go Murica!

Yes because everyone prefers to live on the street. And even if what you said has any merit, what's your point?

I watched Rambo- 1st Blood on Netflix yesterday. There's a good example of what happens when you have a country full of homeless vets with PTSD. EXPLOSIONS. Also, nasty boobytraps with punji sticks in the woods.

no VA loan to buy a house anymore?
hmm, i should go apply for mine one of these days...

if Memorial Day is the celebration of summer's unofficial start and people don't make the effort to remember the dead veterans, then why would they make an effort to honor the live ones who they have to kick out of the way on a daily basis?
Dibs Ludicrous was here.
