i can't speak to the 1st spot and score of 27-28m but hear this one golden n00b lol :

my 10th place of 22.3 (and we won't get into how badly i messed up) ... was the 2nd highest 10th place score in the 200+ round history of express.

so it was not a fluffty top 10, it was one of the most competitive in the history of this server.
the top score was not off the charts because no one strat had major economic benefit this set.

Stupid Croatia went all jets to Retal me. I had 30 mill + easy till the moron did that. 21000 land full Indy tech by turn 1100. Oh well 3rd isn't too bad.

Competitive yes no lie there, still sad techers fluff the bed hard. They had a very consistent set with minimal droppage all week. Hell I stopped buying tech because it wasn't dropping like it should.

It wasn't a good stocking set. I had to sell 34m food @ 34 on my PM. I also sold 28m food @ 38 near the end of the round.

Could have done 27m+, and might have actually won, if I could have destocked around 50. Oh well.

This is ridiculous, no offense dude, but OF COURSE your net would be much higher "if" you destocked around 50. That's not really something you should routinely expect, though?

Nope, but food briefly hit $58 on Friday (the highest it sold @ was 48 though). Wishful thinking. Sometimes you can't call the market correctly.

i do agree with you that the drop wasn't as precipitous as i as a commie would have liked to have seen, but tech also started out relatively reasonably priced and never got too pricey, so i don't think we could have expected a crazy set from them.

blid is a good bellwether for techers, and he didn't shoot the lights out this set so that tells me we shouldn't be too critical of the techers this past set

Sort of true. Prices were never overly high, and I couldn't sell hardly a single point of tech on Sunday. but otoh I was running 650k spies and 800k tanks and holding lots of indies war-prepping for a war that didn't happen, and I was short 1 tech ally, my other tech ally was called Aids Land, and my third tech ally was good but I picked him up late.

I played a farmer and never finished. Good one.

Had almost no real res ally the entire set. Bought 30m food at $38-$41, sold them on market for $34 during the last 45 mins of the set, finished the set with 850k tech on my country. And I had too many retals to do.
