I know but I swear someone sold about 60,000 biz tech for $1800 and another 30,000 for $1900. Meanwhile res tech was $2400 the whole time.

Production is based off your population's percentage of max population, right? Selling residential tech lowers your max population before it lowers your actual population. Then the actual population leaves over your next few turns to get back down to the max pop. But you're never below max pop because of selling Residential tech. So your tpt isn't affected imo?

i only thought of it because i had a few indies creating spies, and once i started to gain pop (rep casher start) my spy production increased. by what i experienced, do commies get incredibly horrible early set production from their indies?

I guess their production is below max after they make a big grab or something... I don't think it has any serious effects unless you get GS/BR as pop nears max when you add land pretty quickly

Fyi..if you do a big grab as a techer and do not build first you are a noob. After building there is no way your production would be effected. Only times I noticed production losses during normal game play is during startup and when buying like 75000 residential on last day as a commie.
