Since I discussed it in another thread, I figured I should make our policy clear. If we grab you, you can retal with any type of attack you wish with the exception of a Nuke. Unless an ESD member double taps you or worse. Then you can shoot as many nukes as you want.

ESD would not consider one or 2 chems, AB's, BR's, GS's, etc as unusual or excessive retaliation for a single grab on you. A nuke gets you farmed/killed straight up though.

As far as how WE will retal, we're pretty much mainstream. 1:1, 3:2, 6:3, farm/kill and FA on special or excessive attacks with pacted clans.

We hug trees at ESD and are pretty easygoing. Blowing people up is counterproductive to efficient net gaining. We also don't do a lot of grabbing as I'm sure the server has noticed.

I do not now and never have expected problems with the "established clans" on the server because even the most malicious ones aren't chock a block with idiots. This is mostly info for newer clans and new players.

LOL. Could always just do a "Do It And Die" (DIAD) policy. 1 anything = Death. ;)

I think Dragon's policy is a great one for a netting clan.

If you're silly enough to retal a SS with a GS that kills civilians I can get back in a handful of turns and destroys just a bit of food, then I come out way ahead.

Same with an AB, where I might have to spend a few turns rebuilding the land/CSs, but I come out at least 200-300 acres ahead (if not far more), or any other special attack.

LOL, and just for any noobs out there, that retal policy is not for 2-3 LG's each from 11 different countries. That is dealt with differently.

I can get behind this kind of retal policy. It's eminently fair, even for small untagged's to be able to vent their rage openly. It's an admirable policy, and I applaud you. :)

"Unless an ESD member double taps you or worse. Then you can shoot as many nukes as you want."

i have a question:

your guy has sixteen countries, i have sixteen countries. he can hit each one of mine a single time and he hasn't double tapped me, or he has?

either way i won't be hitting you, and i play in tko so i doubt you will be hitting me, so best of luck to you this reset- you guys are impressive at netting, i look forward to seeiing what you can do with the addition of self farming/land trading!

(ffa policy and me are still in a leveling out period of our relationship, i'm trying to change to work it out :P)

Naw ideal for a netting clan is a BR/GS/Missile retal = farm/kill. Unless you farm/kill the wrong pesky guy

That's pretty much the idea, Cerberus. It's never fun when the Big Guy gets land off you and you can't retal him even though you're built decent.

It's never fun when the 5th Big Guy of the day gets land off you and you can't retal him (successfully) even though you're built decent.

But ya know, if I can flip a Chem or EM or two at you, or do a couple AB's cause you don't have tanks for fluff, or do a couple GS's, BR's or even bioterrorism for that matter, I feel like I got some payback.

I've BEEN on the short end of the stick and it ain't no fun.

Can't agree man. If you're thinking like a net gainer, the land is the single most important thing. I can replace civilians, weapons, money, etc...

If I don't farm/kill the guy, it's a well I might be able to go back to at a later time. I got my land, he got his missile attack (or whatever) and nobody really loses so long as he doesn't unload his entire arsenal on me for a lousy grab.

Well the way I'm looking at it, you grab an untagged and the untagged comes back at you with an EM. This is obviously to your advantage. But that's that with your policy. Most clans would take a missile retal coming from an untagged as a farm/kill, and you'd get tons more land out of it.

Given you may also attach a set long suicider to your hip, and it wastes a few turns to kill.

Now if only IMP would adapt that policy and scrap their "if we hit you and you retal, you die" policy. I do applaud IMP for being such bad landgrabbers that 1:1 retals suffices for land:land retals on them. That makes 1:1 retals quite easy to agree to.

ESD has just started their landtrading this set. It should be interesting to see how well they can do with it. I'm torn between offering advice, or letting them do it on their own.

Rockman, reading all of your stupid spiel, that seems to be running out of every thread, makes me wonder which tag you will be running into the ground this set.

Do you dispute any of my statements? Or do you merely find the truth inconvenient?

Should we look at how many countries were killed for retalling IMP last set? Or how many times IMP lost out on land to 1:1 retals? The second of these two things likely being a major cause for why IMP is guilty of the first so many times.

Paradigm is nice to untaggeds, one of the nicest alliances on the server to untaggeds. Imp, on the other hand, is the worst alliance on FFA with regards to how it treats untaggeds.
