And George Herbert Walker, "W's" maternal Great Grandfather. Do a search and you'll probably wonder why the whole family isn't in prison.

You talking about his supporting Nazi Germany with matériel support during World War II, just prior to U.S. involvement in Europe?

Also during WWII. Not to mention the Union Banking Corporation which was only a front to hold German industrialist, Fritz Thyssen's money. They were providing money and weapons to Hitler while we were trying to kill him! Union Banking Corporation's funds were frozen for 9 years but then, quietly "went away" with the help of people like former Governor of New York, W. Averill Harriman, John D. Rockefellor (of Standard Oil fame), who married Abby Greene Aldrich, daughter of Senator Nelson W. Aldrich of Rhode Island.

Wartime I will take you more seriously on this stuff if you took as much time looking into our president further back or hell, even the current president as you do the most recent one. He has a LOT more question marks on who he really is and if he is really qualified to be president. Stuff we STILL dont have answers to.

As it stands this is an agenda driven attack on the credibiilty of the previous president as an attempt to divide the populous in the beginning of what will be a heated, dirty election year and I will read it as such.

I don't like Bush any more than you do WT, but Prescott Bush's role with UBC was merely commercial and he didn't really have any involvement with UBC.

Even the Anti-Defamation League cleared him of any charges. Even the owner of UBC Fritz Thyssen: was kicked out of the Nazi Party for speaking out against the extreme anti-semitism and killing of conservative leaders, fled Germany, was arrested by the Vichy, and spent the war in concentration camps.

In all reality, lets look at it this way. If anyone from the GOP becomes president of these United States of America, to take a quote from Bender from Futurama, "We're boned".

There's been horrible presidents from both parties, so there's no guarantee that a president will be crap because they have a R beside their name.

What worries me most about the GOP is the continued hijacking of the party by the extreme right. Still can't believe Richard Lugar lost today because he was willing to work with Democrats, and people wonder why nothing gets done in Congress.

You know, I think FDR was the Communist Brother of Stalin and Chairman Mao, but I don't endlessly whine about all the evil he has done upon America and the ruin he wrought even decades after his death.

I just suck it up and go vote to try and prevent it from continuing or happening again. Apparently, Bush Bashers just can't let go.

I could care less about Bush at this point, but I do remember a lot of Clinton-hating continuing well after he left office. To be fair the other way though, I think that had ended pretty much after 9/11 changed the tone of politics. Not sure if the Clinton-bashing would've gone as long as the Bush bashing has or not.

On another point to explain it a bit, most of the Republicans out there that are terribly relevant on a national stage are more of the rising star types that aren't really vying for a big time national office, so there aren't any real big-time Republican villains right now. I mean, outside Boehner, the biggest voices for the conservative side of the aisle aren't politicians but radio and television personalities. Perhaps that has caused the persistence of Bush-hating from many liberals.

We're all just looking for someone to hate. :P

I think a lot of people did.

But most of us have pretty short attention spans, especially when the combined efforts of Bush and Obama (mostly Bush in this case) made bin Laden pretty irrelevant, and eventually dead.

But like I said, I think that's what put a halt to most of the Clinton-bashing. A new far more important object of hate.

I agree with Twain, the only *real* thing people have to hate about Clinton's administration was the whole Monica Lewinsky and Whitewater scandals, more people focused on those trivial mistakes of his than the fact that during his two terms we had a surplus economy, unemployment was down, and we had our national debt under control.

The thing with terrorism is, if we keep continuing to create our own enemies, terrorism will always used a a trump card for politicians who would like to curb our civil liberties in the name of national security with the likelihood that when the threat is gone (if ever) we won't get them back.

Rather than screwing off our constitutional rights, taxing the hell out of our citizens to create and fund another "National Security" department, or spending a decade keeping our military forces in two countries long after the purpose of their being there has been met, why don't we worry about getting our domestic issues taken care of so we can get more people back to work, and bring American jobs back to America while were at it.

Our overregulations is what created outsourcing, its cheaper to get labor in 3rd world countries, thats a fact and its why most production jobs are outside the US, there's really not much we can do, NAFTA prompted a lot of Southern California textile industries to hop the border into Mexico, when my dad and I had our small engine repair shop in Vista, Ca, we had 3 of those companies do it, we talked to the owners since we knew them from many years of being in same industrial park and they were clear, about it, California is over regulated and the cost of doing business drove them South, you couple that to the fact that in Mexico $3 a day was an awesome salary back then, and you get outsourcing and businesses moving out of the US., you don't have to look very hard to find the problem.

I believe it should be illegal for American companies to outsource to foreign countries, we should stop lining the pockets of the citizens of other countries and start lining the pockets of our citizens at home.

Nightshade...why? America isn't about everybody getting equal fluff. It never has been and it never will be. America is about coming here for opportunity. That is it. Outsourcing is a byproduct of our system. Its not a bad thing at all. In fact we shhould encourage it. That said, we should lower corporate taxes but we also should tax the hell out of $$$ made oversees. It wil incentivize them to start here stay here AND go oversees. It doesn't matter where the money is made as long as its being spent/invested here.

And as for buying american. Bullfluff. Buy the best, if a comapny makes a fluffty product they will have fluffty sales *cough* GM *cough* and quite frankly, they don't belong in the industry if they can't restructure on their own.

It's not so much the bashing as the knowing that if we were to do the same stuff he did and got away with, we'd be in prison for a long time. It's called social injustice and/or social inequality. It's also the reason behind the suffragettes (womens right to vote), the civil rights marches of the 60's and the Occupy Movement going on now.

kinda like clinton lying in federal court, and NOT being thrown in jail for perjury for 5-10y, like you or i would have?

Terrorism will never die because people know they can intimidate others into doing what they want them to do. it's not an East vs West thing. it's a people problem. if killing people to solve problems actually worked, we would have ran out of problems to solve long ago.
