Aww... poor Patience. :( Elephants are so much like people, just without that higher level of understanding. And she certainly doesn't need to be put down - people just need to stop keeping wild animals in zoos and expecting them to behave like kittens and puppies. Leave them in the wild where they belong!

Agreed on the keeping animals in zoos. They need to be left to their own devices in the wild for sure.

I live in Cocoa, Florida now and get to watch a pod of Dolphins chase the mullet in the river at my dock. :) It's fascinating to watch all the wildlife here. I get to do this every day with my fresh hot cup of coffee.
