Ok whats the verdict in express? My 16k acres casher in express was cashing 9 and a half million. My theo in tourney is only getting 8 mil or so on 17k acres, lots of tanks though.

So in express is theo better with the fast start combined with shorter set, or does rep still have more potential?

Also what tech levels arr best stocking as a rep? is there a point such as 169 percent where its not cost effective to keep buying or should you max out tech?

Rep has more potential. A Theo casher needs a bit more land than a Rep casher to have the same cash output per turn, so obviously a player that chooses Theo needs to take advantage of the faster start, and getting that land first, and staying ahead in land size. Theo is thus a bit more difficult. The Theo destock takes longer (due to cheaper PM), but more efficient in $/NW at $222/NW instead of $262/NW, but it also means you "stock" a little bit less since you have to jump a bit earlier than a Rep. This isn't that big of a deal since a good Theo casher would want to have more land than a Rep anyway, so the slower PM destock is slightly mitigated by that.

There is no particular cost effective % to get tech to. It depends on the tech price, and the number of turns left in the reset, and your current tech levels. You'll have to just do the math out. Also check out my post here: http://www.earthempires.com/forum/post/584264/perm

I've played both, and always done marginally better with the Rep Casher.

Mostly for the reasons that Xinhuan just listed. Then again I think my best finish with casher was about the same as yours deezy, so you don't have to listen to me :P

so would i be right in assuming that to get +30mil NW as a casher a person would have to play a little risky and do some farming and break gdi with a few people?

I'm pretty sure a few people have achieved 30m as a Rep Casher without breaking GDI.

and could you give just an idea of your start, and would you consider that more important or how well your grabbing and playing of the market goes later on?

@Blid, how many turrets did you have near the end of the set? You seemed to have lost a lot of land @ end.

i forget how many turrets i had on the country that got 4x retaled. i think it was 7m. the most important thing, i think, if you want to have a perfect or record-level set, is just not getting retaled or topfed, plus keeping your activity up to make frequent grabs. i think if i invest the time, and don't suffer too many topfeeds/retals, i could put up a score like that regularly, but that's just the thing, bad luck hits usually happen, at least one or two, or in the case of my theo, four.

umm i recommend attacking after exploring to 3800 as a rep cashre and attacking maybe as early as 1900 as a theo casher BUT that 36m rep casher i ran, i actually started out all-x amd explored to 7600 or so before i decided to start attacking

i probably started stocking with ~400 turns left in set. thats usually the # i use. maybe since the building cost changes ~450.

tech level, ummm, if you can keep it up at 170 during most of the grabbing phase then that's very good. as it gets later the percentage should be increased. by the end you should be near max, as you can probably buy cheap tech anyway and sell it near the end without it costing much.
