Haha. You see some of those players. The ones who rarely crack a player first but just wait to see that someone else had already made the move before they do.

My plan is if LB has hit them 5 times I will hit them 3 and move on...

So I will have to assume, while a lot of countries wont be that much of a pesk, odds are if one does enough farming, they will run into one who may. Seems there is dynamics that minimize the damage ops do anyway from smaller countries vs larger ones? Like if you only have a few jets you wont take out too many airbases etc. I would have to look into that further. Just winging it here.

Most of the people, most, who are getting farmed are probably still too weak to worry about.

Well, if it has no effect at all it certainly wont harm the game.

I will be interested to see how it goes. Spies are not cheap to maintain. And just how many do you want to have. I tend to think coming from me (or a lot of people) playing a country I could definitely be quite the pesk with spy ops.

PM me is you want a boss indy start. Pure indy, or tech start. Whatever you prefer you will be killing it. If you do pure indy; you be logging out at first (top 5) early. Only catch is I have learned that depending upon player experience even with the exact directions both strategies can some how get fluffed up. There can still be a lot of little nuances as one progresses. and of course sometimes we feel we may have a better idea than what is written/suggested.. Same idea for my theo tech start... I can have you logging out FIRST. Almsot 100% early before you convert. And if you were teching this set... well. You would do very well as my last techer was 7th place at 75m selling tech at fluffing fraction of this set all set but food was a bit more reasonable lol. Thousands of players at once sounds so 2000. Imagine logging in to a new set. Players: 2356. 2000 noobs especially with that miraculously successful advertisement campaign of thouasands of dollars.I still remember fluffting bricks when it got down into the lower 300's. That sounds sweet as hell, now. Markets are tricky. Sure sometimes I can toss out at a decent price. But demand is not consistent enough (especially if lacking money to attack and build). To mess around too much. I've got caught hanging couple of times more than 24 hours. So then I just go low 🙃

#2 sounds very reasonable.

With the player counts so low any other changes likely are not going to enhance player counts which is the largest issue (regardless of who does or does not like the ideas). At best it may balance out with those who come because of the changes or leave in there wake.

Some sort of altered GDI might be of benefit for the NOOBS. But will also upset some of the vets. I think of when I first started playing and I'm almost certain had there only been 50 players I wouldn't have kept at it long. I can't imagine how much it sucks coming to run your rainbow with 50 players. Cause it even sucks coming to run your 27 year fine tuned strategy.

And it makes little sense to come down on noobs because they are and always were what made the game truly great. Strength in numbers. especially noobs. And it still makes sense there will be those people very interested to play; but even like myself to get started with your first countries and not even thinking of the possibilities of looking into finer details of strategy. But just winging it. It was very sustainable and a lot more fun back in the day. Which always brings me back to; THIS GAME IS fluffIND OLD. Not all things will with stand the test of time. At best I would say it would be very lucky to get the player counts back into 100-200 range. Even with a mass ad campaign. Which I do not think would generate enough income to even break even on the ads. I think that is at least partial as to why the original EARTH 2025 also was lead into demise.

Beyond the turns it just seems questionable any changes even if coming from a great intention to help improve the current experience.

Not many folks are looking to do what you are thinking. Coming from where you are thinking ( but lets make it from a true warrior perspective) You are going to be the one breaking GDI. It is interesting you are making that country and literally expecting people to want to break GDI?

The irony a few of us (at least me) had this vision (or delusion) 2025! THE YEAR. I could start to name all the people I have played with/friended/interacted with over the years. As well as just all the real bosses who you remember owning it over the years, and thinking you know, wow, some of them are gonna come back cause it is 2025. It is gonna bring lots more players. :)

bare in mind I am spending literal moments on this. I have no idea what is going on, then, or now. :) But still felt to pop in my two cents without having read everything that is going on and no further beyond skimming for what I recalled as the reason. I have to think there was a reason though... not just because you are hitting a player above you more than once etc. There should have been something more concrete I would think. Maybe not. . .

This to my understanding was why you were deleted? I get it is "on the fence" but that was my general understanding of why you got deleted. Though admitting I had no true clue for sure. But it was literally right after you made that comment you went purple.

I think last set you were deleted cath, you came out and directly said something to the extent that what you did was also in helping your ally? Like you wrote something indicating that I thought? I think that was the nail in the coffin.

The reality is there will always be times when it appears two or more countries are coordinating, and they are not. And there will be lots of cases where they are but there is no clear and direct evidence. Such as in game messages, discord screen shots, etc.

In terms of seing this as a business, you may bare in mind the reason swirve went defunct. Which was the player numbers were dwindling and I would imagine profits in whatever form......were no longer that great. I truly do not know what happened. But was there for the last set. And here we are.... all these years later. fluff, this is nearly a 30 year old text best strategy game. It might just be that little bit of negativity that still lurks within me. Or, it may just be the ability to accept the reality that things come and go. \o/

I still think the largest issue, is time. Things come and go. Yah, sure, some things come and stay a lot longer than others. But not everything will survive, time.

In terms of the ideas, that could possibly attract players, like say, Advertisements on facebook. The people suggesting this, have you ran some ads in facebook to see ? :)

I may, or may never play again. But, seriously in terms of games, this was the ultimate for me. Def greatful for the memories.

Was a lot of fun though. Like the pond I use to skate on as a kid, that has all but dried up. Time marches on. It is pretty impressive it has kept up this long.

There is also the possibility you were making more ops before a full 24 hours was up since your last ops. I have done this too. But that really does not explain 15 backfires, vs just simple fails.

These are fun. Def they get trickier and trickier. I am not sure what the exact coding is, but given the power of this op I find running anymore than 3 a day can be risky. That would be a lot though 15 of them in a row. I have def seen a few backfiring but in general I never run more than 3-4 of these a day tops for the exact thing you mentioned (well, not 15 times in a row part... but yah wiping out half my own people with the op with just a few back fires).
