i was just with someone who has hiked egmont 8 times. they showed me some pictures, pretty amazing land! you near that at all?

nope its in the north island, and the person lied to you, its Mount Taranaki. Well thats the Maori name and what it is most commonly known as in New Zealand.

They should come to the South Island and hike Mount Aoraki, also known as Mount cook which is our highest peak in NZ.

ah yes i've seen pictures of cook. have you hiked that?
and the family was aware of the taranaki name and they did note that, but they are in their 80s and they grew up calling it Egmont and so that's how they still refer to it :p

Only ever been out to the bush a few times, and only ever hunting for pigs, I wouldnt do a hike unless it was to kill fluff :D
