Probably due to the larger amount of self-farming that has been going on this set- and the fact that landtraders can almost never use techer as a strategy.

I have to disagree. If you want 1 giant country techer is not a good option, however my landtrading techers are going to do much better than my landtrading cashers. I'm guessing that i'm not alone in that regard.

I think the medical tech is much more interesting. 5million in 6 hours and yet the average price is so low. Seems a bit odd to me.

Mercs had a lot of landtrading techers this set before IMP killed em, and we did well with them last set, too (although only 1/6th of our tag was techer last set). This set I think we were around 1/3rd of our tag as techers before we warred CC and all our restarts went tyranny farmer. Its actually easier landtrading with techers than it is landtrading with cashers or farmers. Angryjesus is definitely not alone in finding it easier to landtrade with techers than with cashers.

You do waste more turns rebuilding, but is an acceptable lost.

However, Techer/grabber beats the land trader, as long as the grabber finds decent targets.

You don't waste any more turns rebuilding than a casher or farmer does. You will need to spend less turns generating income than a casher or farmer does, though.

Techer/grabber on FFA beats the landtrader if you spend enough time finding targets. If you're finding targets for 16 countries, its going to take way too much time (unless you love spending hours a day on this game). If you're finding targets for 4 countries, its probably not too bad.

On the alliance server, a grabber is superior to a landtrader normally until about 20k to 40k acres (unless the grabber doesn't know how to grab). But due to the much much higher selection of targets on FFA, I agree that the grabber can always beat the landtrader, given that a landtrading techer can't really go much beyond 50k to 60k acres if its goal is networth.
