It's not an easy thing to do. I like dogs a whole lot better than cats, but Ozzy was born a week before me and my wife got married back in 1997.
He's been a part of our family as long as we've BEEN a family. He's got a tumor under his tongue. He can't eat. It's heartbreaking to watch him try ad he just cries and cries to us for food.
We took him to the vet today and they gave him a cortisone shot and some pain killers to see if it would give him the ability to eat rather than just waste away. I don't think it's working. No, I know it's not working.
He's scheduled to be seen by the vet again next Thursday. That's the day he'll be put out of his misery. It's either that or watch him starve to death.
It turns out that saying goodbye to a family member is no easier just because they have 4 legs as opposed to 2 and maybe harder because they don't understand English.
