Everyone will speculate about the degree of cheating that happened for years to come without really knowing but I think a few things can safely be said.

Because of the huge scope of this incident it's quite unlikely that there were others knowingly abusing godlike access, and if there were, then very few.

It's also certain that other countries besides Hanlong/TC's were being abused. I can't say with any certainty if they knew they were receiving extra/altered goods, but if things were done in small amounts then much would go unnoticed or be considered a glitch in the game as I also thought at first. I have no doubt there have been more altered countries that the ones that I know about.

I find most of my hate for LaF has gone away with Hanlong, as I knew he was the driving force of the anti-SOL campaign and lies he used along with it. However, whether they knew or not, LaF has been ran by a cheater and abusing the game and alliances in it for some time now. It won't simply go away and they will have to own up to it.

That's incorrect based on the information I've seen. I haven't seen anything that says to me they went out of their way to edit countries besides their own and knowing most LaF'ers and the LNU system that I myself designed, if it was done it would have been noticed by a strat person. Adding even like 2-3 CS a day would be noticed by any of the teachers.

I believe the biggest transgression of the countries table was likely using it for free spyops; not updating it. When you update tables you're FAR more likely to get caught than just reading so I expect they tried to limit the risk if they updated the countries table at all.

Also Pang, I do have to contend that we had our usual spy teams uploading ops, during chats, and that I never witnessed a target being ran that hadn't just been upped by someone in chat. That is one thing that would have been noticed by ANY of the WCL types, which is quite a large amount of us, and no one did.. meaning that if hlw and tc were looking at other countries, they weren't sharing it with the alliance.

Don't know, the country is dead and the person has obviously restarted. Since I don't recognize it, it likely isn't one of our top players(meaning I wasn't checking it's progress daily to compare to my own)

You don't track who ran your countries? A little hard to believe. Maybe a bit more digging to find out why that country was hacked?

I'm sure I could find it out. What is the concern with that dead country? I haven't read every single thread, only 25% maybe

Also, the country was actually online - it ran 10 turns towards the end of our killrun. So the player must have known how to access the database - or knew someone who could.

how many error messages were generated by the people attacking him? can't quite figure out why a negative amount of turrets would prevent an attack. if you can attack when they have 0 turrets, why couldn't people attack when there are a negative amount of turrets....

You might as well post "I have DB access and will use it to cheat" if you make it so that you can't get attacked anymore during a killrun. So either something that person is a cheat, but a very very stupid one, or something else is amiss with the DB. I'm sure admins will clear this up.

He actually ran 30 turns, he attempted to wall from his phone while on vacation. He's an old vet who has been playing earth since the early 2000s but mainly plays a few minutes a day. We're all very curious in LaF as to what happened to this country. The "ingame manipulation" theory has some serious holes in this instance.

All i have to say is that when the initiator of this thread speaks a lot of earth players should just listen.

How many people would possibly know that a country with negative turrets couldn't be attacked? It doesn't happen. I didn't know about it until you said it and have never heard of it happening before. Not that I pay too much attention to that stuff but yah.

It was clearly a mistake brought on by changing the DB. How it got to negative is not the issue. The issue is that this is a clear example of a regular laf member - who is nobody really - that had their country hacked.

umm it could also imply that someone on the Sol side decided to hack and remove his turrets. OR if you wish to assume it is Laf then perhaps for some reason TC decided to save a random laf country for a vet who isnt even very active right now. Now why would he do that... odd eh.

Oh yes, because SOL has had 2 leaders deleted for access to the database in the last week. LOL

It needs explanation, not spin, not wild and wacky alternative theories. Keep trying though. The admins are looking into it, we'll see what happens.

I'm glad they are looking into it and whoever is caught I hope doesn't come back, no matter the side. But it sure doesn't make sense to me that a Laffer would remove another Laffers turrets.

Actually Jiman so far ive only heard confirmation off the adding of 10m troops to TCs countries, from what I heard of the game mods they werent sure if the negative turrets was a glitch or not yet?

Also dont you find things a little too obvious? negative turrets and 10m troops are way easy to spot but who knows maybe they were drunk or made typos or those things happend in another way either way TC is a scum and always has been
