After spending quite sometime digging through old sets and building a bunch of spreadsheets. I have developed FFA records. It includes the follow categories:

Top 5 Single Set Record in Netting Categories
Top 5 Accumulative Record in Netting Categories
Top 5 Single Set Record in War Categories
Top 5 Accumulative Record in War Categories
Top 25 Individual Records

Feel free to make any suggestions on changes or maybe new ideas. If you are looking for your clans personal stats, I'm willing to PM them to you just send me a message. Also, for the Individual records, I'm missing only a couple country owners, if one of them is you, send me a PM.

Looks good, except set 3 should not be used as the DR bug was in effect that set. Over inflating land results.

Another critique (not criticism) would be on the average land and networth for a clan, it might be good to have how many rounds you're drawing data from. Mercs average land and networth is awesome, but they've played 2 or 3 sets. TKO and PANLV especially but also LaE and ESD have many more sets of data, many of those prior to land-trading exploding the way it has.

But this is fun stuff to look at. It's like clan rankings in that people are going to have complaints or critiques, like me, but it's fun to look at.

Twain you are so right. These aren't perfect. But quite frankly I have no idea how to make it fair.

For example, Mercs also have a huge advantage. The set they warred, they ended that set with not a single country tagged. So, even though they warred and finished with nothing. It didn't bring down their ave nw or land. Unlike Panlv who warred all 7th set. And had 221 countries with average of 5 million NW. Which I would say significantly brings down your total average NW.

But as far as not including data due to game changes, I refuse to do. There is just no way of knowing where to cross the line. Because now this set rules change again, do I just not include all prior sets? I do have a disclaimer at the top saying rules have changed which effect the stats.(I haven't quite put the link in yet, but it will be there)

Also, a stat I would love to add, but it'll be impossible to do. Would be top 25 individual average NW. In order to qualify the person would have to have all 16 countries. But I don't have access to that data, so it's impossible.

There are quite a few on these boards if people would be kind to help compile that kind of data.

Smurf: I agree, that's why I figured simply putting number of sets of data would help. It wouldn't actually change the rankings, but at least it'd be clear to see clans like TKO, PANLV and to a lesser degree ESD have been around for a LOT of sets, whereas Mercs popped in for a short time and had two very good sets (also, while it would be difficult to account for all situations, I would argue that the Mercs war set should actually count as a 0 to being added in for all categories).

Great job though. It's hard to create any type of perfect "record" system. It's all either going with straight numbers and ignoring context or putting a ton of context in and allowing your own opinion and judgment to become a significant portion of the rankings.

These rankings are fun to look at and have generated some conversation. That's what they should do. :)

I did think about trying to put in a zero. But this is when the problem arises because, I would have to make a judgement call. This is because I only have finishing numbers, I don't have starting numbers. So, how much membership do I put for them at zero. Because for me to just put zero, wouldn't really do anything to my numbers. I would have to put an actual membership to them for that set, which would lead me to make a judgement call.

For that reason I would never do it, because I wanted this to just stick to actually numbers and now be based on any judgement or opinions. I can quite easily put up the number of sets each clan has been around. That is fairly simple. I will only run in to a few small speed bumps.

For example. In FFA first set on EE (I was not around). I don't have any tag data for IMP. But I did see hit stats on eestats from tag IMP. So, I'm guessing they were tag killed that set, but I'm not 100% sure.

Not that I'm pushing, just trying to understand what you mean, but why wouldn't adding a zero for members and networth for averaging purposes more effectively show the clan's true history?

Adding a zero to Mercs, for instance, would drop their ANW by 1/3, since they've only been in 3 sets and had two really good netting sets and one set where they were destroyed.

And not that I expect this last information to reflect in any way in the records, but I believe that first set was the beginning of the FoCuS/IMP wars that seemed to occur every set or two at the beginning (although FoCuS was ABC back then). I could be wrong on that though. I was a lazy letter in LaE who was purposely avoiding knowledge of the server politics to keep things simple.

Here's a good question for you, PapaSmurf:

If people find an error or there's an update due to someone surpassing a goal at end of set, would you prefer someone tell you about it for you to update it or should they just update it themselves?

If I broke a record, I'd be happy to let you do all the work, but it's also not hard to update these pages.

I'd imagine llaar had some bigger than that. It all depends on if you want to count that 3rd set (or whichever one it was) as relevant in rankings. Basically, is it okay if llaar owns the record books with records that are impossible to catch due to changes in the code? :P
