I mind targeted ads a lot less.
At least it means I get to see things like ads for trips to Disney World.

It's better than the "Click Here for a Roman Orgy" ads ingame.

Ads pay for bandwidth, equipment and upkeep, etc... And give a few bucks to the guy(s) trying to make a living on this.

people have been offering to pay for a patron status for a long time. if they cared about money to pay for stuff they wouldve implemented it by now.

eventually there will be perks yes; though i'm personally 100% against anything that directly modifies your ability to do well, so there won't be bonuses methinks

perhaps access to additional servers (beta?) or something like that

I don't think anyone should get "bonuses" for Patron status. Pain pretty much summed it up very concisely.

Honestly, the ads don't annoy me all that much. I really don't have a hard time tuning them out.

Let's face it. qzjul is keeping a game alive that a lot of us have played for YEARS.I think that's worth a few annoying ads.

there a certain amount for clicks and a certain amount for page impressions; users going out and clicking lots of ads tends to get labelled as click fraud and can either lead to their clicks not counting or to the sites account being suspended, depending on the degeree and prevanalce

I think unlocking stuff for the forums would be cool.
The more a users posts they more points they get(minus spamming, which can easily be fixed with delays between posting) and they can unlock things like a certain image to go under their name or something, kind of like a custom title or something.
