One thing I think glaringly stands out is when Brady was out for a year, his team still went 11-5 (and we Chiefs fans know how good Cassel ISN'T!) whereas Manning's team fell off a cliff to 2-14. Brady has always had a better overall team, Manning better receivers maybe, but OLine, Kicker (how many 17-14 or 20-17 games did Vinateri win for Brady??) and DEF- Brady always had the help! And the old cliche of "Defense wins Championships"

Most Patriots fans I've met from outside the obligatory "I'm from Boston so I need to be an asshole about sports" radius feel that Manning is definitely the better statistical quarterback, but playoff results don't lie. That's why last night's game SUCKED for people like me who make that argument! :p

But the loss of Talib was huge. Too huge to overcome :( As soon as he went down I knew the offence was going to need to score on nearly every drive. Didn't even come close to happening.

But if we had a healthy Wilfork, Talib and Gronk then the game would have been as interesting as the NFC game :p

And that is exactly why that game was far more important for Peyton than for Brady. Peyton has all the pressure to win the superbowl or face a lifetime of doubt of his greatness.

I'll put it out there that if Peyton doesn't win, he is out of the conversation.

If Peyton does win then we will have to debate a 2 ring manning vs a 3 ring brady: who's better! What a topic that would be :)

i did not, no, ford, know the name of the mascot for the college team that peyton played for. i did however know he played for tennessee.

i merely enjoy two things, state mottos/nicknames and at any opportunity to flaunt my knowledge of state mottos or nicknames :P

i never claimed to be cool :P
