I remember that game.
<~qzjul> it gives you a good introduction to orbital mechanics and a good appreciation for how central delta-V is and thrust to weight ratio
<RaTSFYA>The only thrust to weight ratio I'm worried about involves the women I pick up at bars

was like a turn every 10 seconds or something

Amen, braden. I have been cheating recently and playing to turn 99 on Wednesday to keep from going nuts.

yepp, all this does hammer is allow you to hold off playing even longer, because you're 99 less turns away from losing turns. i do this, as well sometimes.

I used to play Tradewars on BBS's in the early 90's. You only got so many turns per day and only one person could log in at a time at 14,400 baud. I used to find every BBS with Tradewars in the local calling area and play them all :)

It was a fun game. You could leave message beacons across the galaxy, which I think was 100 cubed. So you could leave a message like "CX is a fluffer" and it would stop a starship in its tracks if it travelled through that space

I remember my first computer. Sorta. It ran Win 3.1 briefly. I say briefly because I created a directory directly under the C drive and named it with my name, then cut and pasted all the other folders in the C drive inside that directory. I can imagine the thought that went through some old sysadmin's mind as he found the harddrive in the local landfill (or wherever it ended up), tried to boot it up, then slaved the drive to his machine and found everything was beneath me.
I am a troll. Everything I say must be assumed to be said solely to provoke an exaggerated reaction to the current topic. I fully intend to bring absolutely no substance to any discussion, ongoing or otherwise. Conversing with me is pointless.
