Hello to all the eyes and minds that are reading this!

Firstly let me state that I understand the general concepts of the game and strategy itself.

However, I am an old 2025 player from middle school. That was a dozen years ago! I am not used to the express style but with my lifestyle and the volatile nature of express I've deemed this server as a good enough reason to get back into the game.

Now, my problem lies in competition and the discomfort of knowing I'm playing the game wrong.

So I'm doing something that is not typical of me I'm any game, and coming here to get some advice and interaction from my peers.

I primarily need direction in respects to build orders and tasks that I should be performing as I grow in NW. I am a fan of the indy concept, but I don't feel like I am doing it right.

I am also open to other builds. Not necessarily looking to be one of the jet builds though.

Thanks and best regards!

Look to the other forums that have "expert" load outs on a play by play to build your country. The forums called learning and you can look at load outs under express help.

After reading those find an alliance with Vets to help teach and mentor you as you go. 1A is the best place to learn, express is good to meet people and challenge yourself without tag protection and land trading.

One way to become a good player is simply by mimicking what other good players do. For example, you want to become a better indy player, what better way to do this then by mimicking them? Spend a couple of turns to spy the top indies, see their country setup, and figure out why they are doing it the way they are doing. Send them a message if you still can't figure it out and most will be willing to share/help. Check their news and see how they grab for land as well, and how often.

That doesnt always work Xinhuan, the first 300 turns are pretty critical to a winning country. Looking at ops is just gonna show you a clean run country and BPT, not how it got there. For example some players build a few Bus/Res in between building CS to boost their income while making CSs. Others build farms to cover food while start up, everyone has a different start up strat that works for them. After that the good ones convert the "spare" buildings into whatever they're running and clean up their country.

you cant see this in express because people can play 360 turns in a few minutes and alot can be done with that 360 turns.

you cant see this in primary because if you cant be within 1/4 of the top players nw, you dont even get to spy on them.

Yeah, you might not be able to spy a player's progress in the first 300 turns, but you CAN infer a lot of it much later. If you see a player with say 300 CS very early, then you have a pretty good idea of how he spent his early turns, and based on attacking news, and exploring dates (eestats etc) you can infer a lot of things.

And even if you can, as I said, ASK. You can always send private messages.
