One of the primary tactics i have seen used since coming back is people running low defense early and doing late, usually huge retals.

My first round back which i did really well, only to get missiled to nothingness due to my lack of GDI and agressive grabbing i'm sure making someone slightly upset.

So it got me to thinking, how is one to get ahead and how could I exploit these tactics. So this led me to this line of thinking... what if instead of Industrial tech I maxed out SDI and farmed everyone I hit 5 times. Daily. Enough to keep them from ever getting big enough to AB or retal.

I assume i will catch a lot of missiles late set. My question being as i've never actually maxed out SDI, is how many missiles could it stop generally speaking? 10? 20?

I was thinking if one was a skilled grabber combined with mitigating retals allng with missiles that the enourmous amount if land ine could grab doing this would offset the +35 industrial production until one could get ut up as well. I tested 0 tech last set as indy an it did not fare as bad as one would have thought.

It would be challenging to keep the SDI up and to keep the ABs away, but if you hit the right people, it could work. If you hit the exactly perfect people it might even work without SDI!

Unless you hit a skilled player and no amount of SDI or tanks can help you. You also forget to account for troops and turrets and spies.

This is funny as I recebtly grabbed a guy with 28k tanks and 3k troops and turrets.

Yes he avoids being Abed but is subject to a worse fate of BRs, plus DR kicks in and you get fluff land returns for multiple hits.

I believe this would work, IF you can keep track of all the people you hit, and that's a BIG IF.

My first set back i farmed my way big enough to do this and not get hit back as a farmer. Only problem was I ended up getting missiled.

What i did was found two or three low def cashers and farmed the crap out of them. Then just kept it moving to other fatter targets. That initial 2-3k acre jump was enough i was safe from the retal.

Whats the max sdi? and it lowers it if you get hit.. how much?

with max sdi how many of 20 missiles would get through and how low would your sdi be after?

i caught several countries after batch explores mind you with like zero defense 5k plus acres and sent 4 PS then hit as much as i could b4 DR and on to the next one. so i got a lot of land and my jump imade so huge there was no chance of retals perd.

I feel like with the right set luckwise 30k acres would be pretty easy like this.

90% is max, 2 would get through, and your SDI would be like 86-87% or something, I dunno, I just made that part up

yup. the problem is people can create needed offense / oil to bring you down in probably less than an hour (if they are playing late).

These countries i fsrmed were not catching up to retal. Period.

I got missiled either because of this or because I was the largest non-gdi country. I was sitting verrrrry good.
