I mean that's all well and good I suppose. But isn't he kind of over reacting even worse than she is? Here is a guy that volunteered to be in the Army, volunteered for and completed airborne school, then volunteered for and completed spec-ops training to become a green beret in a wartime army. Based upon that, it sounds very much as if he not only expected to be in a war, but was actively seeking that outcome.
Paltrow is a whiny self-indulgent little fluff, but she certainly does not ask for the vitriol that is directed at her online. The term 'war of words' dates back to before Shakespeare, and is well established vernacular. I think its a tad disingenuous for somebody that is voluntarily out in the weeds fighting to defend our right to free speech to turn around and take a very cheap shot at somebody for exercising it. He knows damn good and well that as an active duty military member, that hs is essentially untouchable by the media. Calling people out in public for using their freedoms in a manner that he disagrees with is essentially chilling the very rights he is risking his life to protect.
