I used to own the Original Master Recording edition of Journey to the Center of the Earth and The Six Wives of Henry The VIII. It was a decent time in life. I was in the military, spent my paycheck in the navy Exchange in Europe and managed a hell of a stereo to listen to that stuff on very reasonably priced for there, dirt cheap for here. Fortunately, when I returned to the US it was considered used personal household goods and I avoided all the tariffs and such that make some European technology so expensive here.
You haven't lived until you have listend to Journey to the Center of the Earth on an awesom stereo system. Pink floyd was off the charts on it too. I bought the OMR versions of those great albums too. :)
Unfortunately, during my final deployment, I left it in the care of my 3 younger brothers at my parent's house, and they drove my parents mad with it.
One story of particular humor if you understood my Dad was his extreme patience, upon expiring was a maniacal event. My second oldest brother, and my youngest brother were arguning about what to listen to on the stereo, my youngest brother was one of those guys that went all in for Disco, and my second oldest brother was a die hard rocker They fought and argued over who's albums were going to be played on a beautiful Bang and Olufsem turntable, with an ortofon OM-10 cartridge, and all the options of the day. When, my father, who has had his belly full of the belly aching about it. Walks into the room where it was located, grabs this poor innocent turntable that costs damn near a thousand dollars here, rips is out of the back of the Carver Holographic Pre-amp, which was also innocent, I might add, and slams it three times on the back of the couch, on the way to the back door, which upon reaching, he swings the turntable around by it's cords, then flings it about 30 feet down the driveway to land at the feet of my third oldest brother, who related to me the story.
He was horror-struck by the complete destruction of the turntable and dead set on kciking my other brother's asses for having driven our Dad to that extreme. LOL
I don't need anger management, people need to stop pissing me off!
