I like a nice big, mouth punching red. :) Good cabernets, good pinots, some zins. My favorites tend to be American west coast "meritage" blends, and italian reds.

Try Portuguese reds. They have some different grape varieties here

and many suit me very well. In particular touriga national and trincadeira.

As to the regions, Douro is good but lately I have been thinking wines from the Ribatejo are even better - marketed now as from the "Tejo" region.

Nothing whatsoever. I'm just back from northern Italy and they have some really nice rosato wines, very refreshing drunk chilled on a hot day.
