My wife and I just bought our first house earlier this year, so we're new to the neighborhood. She is excited for Halloween to meet more of our neighbors etc. She asked me what I was going to dress up as, and i've recently decided that, as I am not a big costume person, I will be going as Clint Eastwood from Gran Torino (minus the racism, because racism is lame).

I have been practicing my glowering ability and have purchased a 6-pack of PBR just for the occasion.

I also got some crappy candy that the kids are sure to hate.

(but its just for a reaction, I also got good candy because I really can't be that mean)

You could give the kids the beer. That should make you very popular with the neighbours. :)

HA! I suppose popular with the neighborhood youth, but at the risk of becoming equally unpopular with local law enforcement.
