It seems to me that my Indy production is way low. What am I missing? I have 516 IC acres and set to 100% turrets. I have 0 Industrial tech points. Seems to me I should be putting out over 959 turrets per turn, but I'm only getting 457 per turn. How can I be getting fewer turrets than acres when its supposed to be 1.8 per acre? Please help.

I would try again, starting at the beginning of the set instead of the last few days of the set, and pick a government that enhances your preferred strategy, such as Communism. Also, investing in some Industrial tech would help in boosting your industrial capacity.

We're you attacked in a manner that killed civilians? Production is population based now. If you arnt at max pip or close to it, your production will drop.

Haven't played indy in forever but per acer should be per building then Indy ratio to unbuilt also has an effect I think

crippy: doubt it.

all production today is pop based, if you got low pop then your production is low too no matter how many production buildings you have and it rises when your pop gets closer to max pop.
Patience: Yep, I'm with ELK and Marshal.

ELKronos: Patty is more hairy.

Gallery: K at least I am to my expectations now.

No, never been attacked at all. Just started couple days ago to iron out my startup. Was not aware that pop had any impact on indy production. Didn't see any hint of that in the wiki. Running pretty lean Indy: 90 ent/resid, 24 farm, 100 csites, 556 IC, 88 unused. 3114 pop.

hmmm. Built more resid acres. Now at 295 resid acres. Pop jumped up to 14k, and indy production is spot on. 1034 turrets (556 IC * 1.86).

Yes, looking back at the earlier post the pop level of 3114 was below max pop. Should have been closer to 7k. Not sure why pop was so low. It was growing very slowly too. Took 50 turns of cashing to get the pop to stabilize.

sounds like you have a fairly new and still growing country. it is rather often that you wont be at max pop while growing be it exploring new land, buying tech, or constructing residences. all these can raise your max pop and takes a few dozen turns or so to catch up.

Spent the first 100 turns building csites almost exclusively with no exploring. Then went into an agressive build, build, explore cycle. Pop growth was not able to keep up with adding 45 new acres every 2-3 turns. I wasn't even paying attention to pop as I was looking only at the Indy output. I didn't know pop was important. I'll have to adjust my start to watch pop growth more closely.

One of the keys to early country building is to balance that pop growth with Counstruction Site buildings. When pop growth beings to dwindle, time to explore a bit.
