Thanks! This was actually the first round I have played as commy in some years, so really I'm surprised I won. I could have even finished a little higher, but I pulled a chunk of military off the market with about 15 minutes to go in the round for fear of overselling and then bought a little too much tech before running my final turns. A few people landed some really nice hits on me too, and I couldn't quite time a solid retal on most of them.

^ I think the techers are getting the shortest end of the stick with the bots. They can least afford to spend extra turns bottomfeeding fuffy noob-bots.

Yech prices did seem high this set though; I'm not sure whether this is any sort of compensation effect, but it doesn't seem unlikely if people jump ship on teching strats.

Got 2nd and left about 2mil nw on the table since i forgot to spend about 500mil and a few turns not like it mattered. I spied 2 earlier today and knew he had it in the bag unless i or someone else hit him but it was only gonna hurt my finish to hit him. Deezy i did decent as dict casher but not enough to compete with a big commie

I stocked 4m bushels at $30 and waited for days for it to sell, and it never did. I used it up during my attack phase on Saturday night. I played as delayed as I've ever played waiting for those bushels to sell and for tech prices below $3000. In the end I didn't buy any more tech and just kept retaling and growing, but with such low bus/res levels as a rep casher I ended up with $17.7m and came 13th. But it was a fun game, thanks everyone. Thanks to Bstrong, Tellarion and Warster for doing a good mod job around here

a techer didn't win?

Congrats on the win, bepulse, and all others in top 10. I was thinking that was one of h2o's country names, but never checked to confirm.

That was my best finish as a techer, and first attempt as a demo techer. I still had a few hundred million to spend when time expired, but nothing on the market to buy.

Was doing a pub quiz last night through the last hour or so of the set, everyone thought I was cheating the quiz, I didn't give darn about it, just wanted to spend spend spend.

I found tech OK this set, easily my best finish as demo/ dict techer, just creeping up behind getafix!

Rather better than decent, Yeti, that is a fine achievement playing Dictator. It is rare enough to see a dict appear in the top ten but you challenged for the win and are well clear of the pack in second place. Congrats to you.

Several of us had a pop at bepulse's country but we could not slow him down. He was heading for the top with a bullet. I have not previously seen a Commy Indie hang back like a casher but the technique plainly worked brilliantly well. He always had 300 turns in hand and must have used them very effectively in the burst for the line at the end. To see a big Commy go to the front early and stay there is commonplace. Holding back I have not seen before. Perhaps others will tell me the technique is well known but it looks like an innovation to me. I am certainly tempted to try it.

Superfly plays late as a commie every set. Whoever plays those car countries does too. Haven't seen em in a while but he runs a very good indy.

Are you referring to the car countries like Twin Turbo ISF, I Bought a 2011 Nissan GTR, Twin Turbo Toyota Tercel, etc.. those are mine. If you dont see I R WoG SuperFly in express I am playing a car country :)

The problem that I have with holding turns is that most of the time I dont play at the right times so every set I miss on 130+ turns as they are in storage and I spend way to much cash on buying food in the last 2hrs. I also never buy business or Res tech so my NW at the end always blows :P

lol KoH I had 2 countries 3 rounds ago and somehow they were both created by me I think. I played Theo/Indy and LOL'ed hard when I realized 2 days in that I was the wrong government LOL
