So I'm gonna have the oppurtunity to do a little traveling through Asia next year. Can pretty much do whatever my US passport will allow me to do.

I'm a bit of a theme park/zoo/aquarium/national park junkie and plan on visiting Tokyo Disneyland (and Tokyo in general).

I'm finding going to China with a US passport to be very very annoying although I'd like to go to Shanghai.

I'm looking for some recommendations of awesome places to visit based on the activities I listed above. Open to all suggestions :)

I'm not sure what you mean by "national park"... If you mean natural wonder, then Shanghai is not it. If you mean long historical significance, then Shanghai is not it.

They probably have a theme park or three though.

I've only been to Cambodia and Thailand, so if you head through there I can give you some recommendations.

Shanghai is gonna be a 1 day trip to go see the newly opened Shanghai Disneyland. I'm not spending much time there. I'm looking for other places to spend more time. By National Park I mean National Park lol most countries have some that are their equivalents to say Yellowstone or Death Valley etc.... I'll probably visit one in New Zealand while I'm there and maybe go see Mt Doom from LOTR.

TAN: I'm gonna be free to head anywhere I want. I'll have about 3 weeks to hop around. I'm starting from New Zealand and definitely want to visit Shangjai and Tokyo. Everything else is up in the air.

If you go to Cambodia, spend no more than 2 days in Phnom Penh. You'll have enough time to see the major sites (most of which are depressing) like the Killing Fields. From there, head to Angkor Wat - I think it's a few hours away, so you'll either need to bus it there or fly. I didn't actually get a chance to go there but you won't need more than a day to check it out.

Then you can head to Chiang Mai, Thailand and spend a couple days there. The zoo there is massive, and there's a bunch of stuff to see in the surrounding areas. Also, temples! You can spend two days in Bangkok - take a boat tour, then there's other cool things down there too, like the palace and other cool temples. Everything is dirt cheap in Cambodia (which actually uses American dollars as currency) and Thailand.
