what do you prefer?

i have had my fair share of gerbers and kershaws, but i recently just ordered a peach of an EDC

It is a Boker Automat Kalashnikov 74 in sand/OD green. it was $36 shipped

when i got the knife the open trigger was sticky as fugg. one of my friends has the same knife and his was much smoother. I had to take the old mechanics trick and dump the knife in sand and work it to wear down the action. but i have to say, after that it is a sweet ass knife. the blade is of a quality composition, the action is smooth and fast as fluff, and the dagger style blade is as functional as it is beautiful.

In all seriousness though, I had a Gerber break on me recently.

I'm not a small guy (175lbs 6'1") but I prefer smaller knives (unlike some farmboys out there who have the Crocodile Dundee mentality "that's a knife!"). I carry a simple 5" knife (overall length) with a 3" blade with me every day. As long as it stays sharp, it gets the job done and stays pretty concealed (I work in an office job).

When I hunt, I prefer the smaller knives as they are easier to manage when you've got your hands inside an animal and you can't see what you're cutting.

This comes with a safety which I like in that it doesn't open accidentally in my pocket.

It is a very good knife. I personally don't like serrations on my EDC but that is personal preference.

Make sure it is an automatic. Some of the cheaper ones don't have the spring installed. And be careful, the fluff opens fast as fluff. I had to break mine in so you may have to as well. Mine was $29.99 too.
