I don't know... getting the fluff missiled out of your countries for no apparent reason is something that kind of puts me off. Normally, if you did something to deserve it, that's one thing... but having hit no one but your own countries, and have your set ruined? that's just fluffed.

It used to be if you got hit... you made an attempt to retal, and if you bounced the hit, that was all she wrote. Then someone decided to come up with land:land retals, we all know how that faired.

Then, there was farming untaggeds without reprieve, and people started getting suicided. That lead to people self-farming so they don't get some overzealous asshole who spent his set stockpiling missiles waiting for anything... like a browser freezing, that person refreshing a few times and discovering that their one grab turned into four... and then having their country missiled into oblivion for it. When it would have been far easier to hit the person while their forces were completely PS'ed out to get their land back.

when you have sdi and don't get missiled you say it was waste of time and money but when you don't have sdi you curse why didn't you buy sdi when you get missiled.

its a game of attack and defend.... Just cause netters "enjoy" enjoy it more by making large countries other people have fun attacking..

There are no real rules on this apart from what is kind of agreed on these boards, nothing in the rules say you cant use harmfull ops or missiles etc..

So you either defend your land or there is a chance you will loose it one way or another, it has been like that since we all started playing

netters get the fluffs when it happens and cry about leaving, when theres no war killers leave cause its boring..

simple fix is make 2 servers, one netting, one killing put the rules in place and everyone is happy... pie in the sky... maybe..

I am not saying llaar did it, but I had a 40k country missiled down to 17k acres for what was supposed to be a single grab (turned into four because of a frozen browser and three refreshes), and after apologizing for the mistake I got missiled from 25k to 10k, the offending countries were killed and I self-traded to make up for lost land, got up to 40,606 acres and within 24 hours country was sitting at 17,112 acres, with a message from the same prick left telling me he wasn't going to stop until that country was dead. He got killed again, however with how late it is in the set, I decided not to rebuild a 17.2k acre parking lot just to have it missiled into the dirt a third time.

2 servers 1 for war and 1 for netting would bore both netters and warrers, if netters can run their countries with minimal def (non-existant) then that would hurt commies and netters could become bored due nothing happens, don't know many warmongers (besides those at imag but they are nutcakes) who want to war every set since it could take its toll after few sets, besides who would produce jets etc for warmongers if whole server would be in war (shared market could work).

its a game of 2 halves... sometimes ur on the good side others not so...

im not trying to justify anything...just how it is...as a netter im sure it sucks to loose countries.... as a killer i expect it...

And ya know,looking back thru FFA history, "netting clans" like TSE farmed the fluff out of other clans, and I "get" why someone might have suicided on them or eded up in wars.

Then take a clan like ESD. Who doesn't fluff with ANYONE. Who doesn't even GRAB anyone let alone far them. Who encourages new players to stick around and tries to be friendly with everyone. Just a bunch of guys trying to mind their own business and enjoy the game in their spare time.

It's bullfluff.

there was a time when ESD was 30-60 countries and got left alone... now your the 3/4 biggest tag.... makes you a target...i dont think thats right either BTW

suiciders are always going to be part of the game but that doesn't mean you need to go bat crazy and defend them because they are your "friend" and threaten anyone who touches them. That makes you just as bad as the suicider. If my friends act like children and suicide on random people then I am sure as heck not going to defend their actions and in private I am going to make sure they know what a dbag they are being and if continues happening set after set then I will be first in line to kill them.

llar and TKO have history...not just this set.. and they have killed him alot...

i told him to pull his head in, but im not going to just let him die.. but he did get killed and that was the end of it..

i was the first to try and get it fixed and try and sort out the reps....

llar and ESD had NO history. Other than he's been a fluff to us on more than one occasion without provocation so....

I could easily just join a clan like NBK and make it my mission for eternity to sit on assholes that screw with people who dont deserve it, and if I had more time, I probably would.

its one thing to try and get it fixed and sort out reps which is great but its another thing to say that you are going to war anyone who kills the suicider because he was your friend. Especially when it was your tag that made him suicide cause you started killing him. lol Not only should you have let him die but you should have joined in.

When a leader of your tag and a veteran member both make threads saying you will be killing a suicider because he messed with cc then all of a sudden that suicider goes and hits netters and you find out it is your friend you pull a 180 and let him tag cc and defend him thats pretty messed up and makes you look terrible.

IF I wasnt the lowest defended player in the clan I wouldn't have been hit as bad as I was.

*NOTE* This does not apply to Mufasa/Saint who have been hit a lot in the past with a lot less juicy countries and a LOT more defense =/

Oh, and for the whole of the community was wondering, ESD is pretty much free land as it is. We don't do L:L and are not going to be desuchebags over a few Land Grabs.(Even to untaggeds as long as it's not excessive, and even if it is we try our best to contact the offending countries and offer a uNAP if they tag up)

I join a "respected" clan in order to not be hit/ be hit less! Retals,threats and fear should be tools used when initial knowlwdge and/or civil communication ain't no working. When "Thought & Talk" don't work "Shock & Awe" helps.

Joining the "biggest alliance" doesn't ensure safety. All THAT does is put a bullseye on your back for some pissed off suicider to punish your clan with.

Llaar has history with the whole server .. he freaked out a few sets ago and made a similar grabbing spree. Whatever keeps it interesting I guess. Pan lost a cool 200k acres this time as well
