Three Senators suspended with no due process and no ability to appeal. The mayor of the largest city admitting to smoking crack, and then moving on as if nothing happened. And now Quebec banning any non-Chrsitian religious symbology from public sector employees (well, not explicitly, but banning anything larger than a small pendant or ring, which means any religion that DOESN'T express themselves with a small cross is screwed).

The Charter Affirming The Values Of Secularism And The Religious Neutrality Of The State, As Well As The Equality Of Men And Women, And The Framing Of Accommodation Requests tabled today. Incredibly unconstitutional.

I doubt Quebec cares if it is unconstitutional, that is what section 33 of the charter is for.

As for the Senate suspensions, in my opinion they have 102 more to suspend indefinitely before everything is square.

You don't need due process or appeal regarding Senate suspensions, and yes they do have 102 more to suspend indefinitely.:P

Regading Quebec: that's not the first time they've done something unconstitutional and it probably won't be the last. I would say exactly what I think of that segment of Quebeckers and call them out for what they really are but that is not for this board. (I still have a few living relatives left in Quebec as well who would affirm this, all of whom were born there).

As for the Mayor of Toronto, there is an election in under a year anyway. Council is considering petitioning the province to remove him. The comments on the stars and G&M's website show how people have no understanding on how Canadian government works (ie the Federal government has no authority, the Province actually can legally sack the mayor or any other municipally elected official since a "City" is but a provincial crown corporation, not only that but they can change boundaries, and even legislate cities out of existance but why would you do any of that, let someone else take the blame).
